Joan Miro (1893-1983) was born in Barcelona, Spain. He was an artist and writer who moved to Paris in 1920. Throughout his career, Miro has worked in tapestries, ceramics, sculptures, and abstract paintings, and he is recognized as a pioneer of modernism.
