Linogravure, also known as linocut, lino print, lino printing or linoleum art, is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface. Linogravure (Linocut) is a type of engraving in saving size, close to the woodcut, and is practiced on a particular material, linoleum. Softer than wood, linoleum allows a smoother and more precise line and its smooth surface allows to obtain an optimal quality during printing.
